Dr. Sofiza Azmi
Dr. Sofiza Azmi joins Edbiz Consulting as CEO after serving as Director, Strategy, Policy & Research at the Asian Institute of Finance (AIF), Malaysia. Prior to that she was the Head of the Director General’s Office at Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA), Malaysia, and a Research Fellow at the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF).
She holds a PhD in Corporate Finance from the University of New England, Australia. She obtained her Master of Science in Corporate Finance and Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from the University of Salford, UK. She is a prolific writer and has written numerous articles in Islamic finance, which have been published internationally. She is the co-author of the book entitled “Islamic Finance and Banking System: Philosophies, Principles & Practices”. Translated into the Russian and Mandarin languages, her book is being used as a textbook at numerous universities worldwide. She is a recipient of Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) in 2012 and 2014.
Ustaz Mohd Fazli Masri – Shariah Advisor & Lead Consultant
Ustaz Mohd Fazli Masri is a member of ASAS / (“Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance”) and upholds Shariah professional practices experience of about thirteen years in Islamic Banking and Finance industry. Currently he is appointed with Shariah advisory role at a few organizations, such as Shariah Consultancy firms, Islamic cooperative organizations and Islamic Financial Institutions. He is actively being engaged by IBFIM / (“Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia”) as accredited Shariah trainer for its accredited certification and fundamental Islamic Finance programs.
He is graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with B.A Hons IRKH specialized in Fiqh and Usul Fiqh ( Shariah ) with minor in Islamic Public Administration.
Khuram Shehzad: Head, Business Development and Strategy

Khuram Shehzad is a highly motivated and competent member of our global team. He has more than eight years’ experience with different multinational organizations in general and technical Project management, business development and delivery, motivation and team building/leadership, financial management, reporting, negotiation and mediation.
He has also been involved in social development programs, social mobilization, participatory research, training, monitoring & evaluation, business proposal and business reporting, feasibility studies, and project viability analysis.
Zia Ullah Zia: Head of Operations: Pakistan
Zia Ullah Zia brings vast operational experience to Edbiz Consulting Pakistan branch. He has over thirty years of public administration and public relationship experience. His last appointment was with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Islamabad, where he served as a Deputy Director Public Relations.
Saqib Nawaz, Associate Manager Sales and Marketing, Saqib Nawaz, is an exceptional student and highly competent individual who holds a dual Bachelor degree in International Business Management from the UK and Malaysia on full bright scholarship from Al Bukhary International University Malaysia. He has an overall professional experience of four years, which includes association with highly reputed organizations.
Bilal Naseer, Associate Manager Sales and Marketing. Bilal Naseer is a self-starter and a goal oriented individual who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Administration from COMSATS Institute of Information & Technology, Islamabad. His areas of expertise include Sales & Services Operations and Client Servicing/Relationship Management. He is also a registered member of HEC Pakistan as an industry expert. With five years of overall experience, he holds a strong grip on sales & marketing and business development strategies.
Hassaan Malik joined Edbiz Consulting as Assistant Manager HR and Admin. He holds a Master’s degree in Business and Administration. His core duties involves developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. However, he is performing a variety of tasks to fulfill the main responsibility which is leading to our HR programmes and policies as they apply to employment relations, compensation, benefits, safety, performance and staffing level.
Ehtisham Ahmed is the Assistant Manager Design and Publications. He holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Islamic International University. He started his career from Hashoo Foundation as an intern but love for visuals made him pursue a career of a graphic designer. As a designer he has worked with various software houses and one of his greatest achievements has been designing the Sunday Times magazine in the local newspaper.
